Is it me? Or is the world having a lot more earthquakes this past year or two? Maybe we’ve always had them and the news channels just didn’t think they were newsworthy. Or maybe we had them and communications in those far away countries inhibited getting the word out to the U. S. I hope we are not having more earthquakes, just hearing about more of them instead.

Alaska is awesome

What an awesome sight to wake up to a nice cool morning in August with the ocean at one side of the ship and snow capped mountains on the other side. If you’ve never seen that, I highly recommend it. The cruise itself has been amazing with all of the food and entertainment on board ship but now the fun really begins not that we will be leaving the ship to explore different parts of Alaska. I can’t wait.

Dad is being secretive about the cruise so all I know is that we leave on Wednesday and will be gone for 2 weeks at least. He’s always been secretive about surprise vacations and they usually turn out great but I remember one year when it turned out to be a total disaster. He set up a vacation in Florida and of all the things, a hurricane decided to make shore two days into the vacation.
Can you say “Time to get the heck out of Dodge”? Well that’s exactly what we had to do because they were under a mandatory evacuation. The Keys is not the place to be when a big bag of wind wants to vacation there too.
