I’m a tight wad you might say

Now that I don’t make as much money as I did when I worked full time, I have learned how to be really tight with my money.  One thing that really helps is shopping online.  One of my favorite places to shop online is Cymax. I was surprised to  find  Cymax discount coupons online and saved even more money. Have you ever checked them out?

Believe it or not but I also found Sun & Ski Sports discounts coupons too.  Saved me a bundle so I can afford to pay for my gas to go skiing this winter.  Cool huh?  If you look, you might find discount coupons for what you want too.

Hiking

If you are going hiking, the most important thing to take on your hike is a good pair of boots. You must protect your feet and ankles. Make sure you wear at least one pair of good boot socks so you don’t end up with blisters.  These are the ones I got.

Going hiking this weekend

A good friend of mine has invited me to go hiking at a local park this weekend.  It’s a great place because of the nice hiking trails they have and also all of the other things they offer there like boat ramps and the fishing is pretty good in the lake too.  There are picnic areas in the woods beside the water where you can take your family for picnics and also a beach type area for the kids to go swimming too.

Oh man I just realized I need some new hiking boots.  Guess I better get in gear and find some.

Looking for new camping gear

I’ve decided that camping is what I want to do this summer instead of staying in a motel somewhere.  There’s a freedom that only camping can give you.  There’s several places I camp along the New River in North Carolina and Virginia.  I love that river for some reason.  It’s so peaceful and almost a spiritual experience to go to sleep listening to the water gently flowing over the rocks.  The fishing’s pretty good too which is a huge plus to me.  In fact, I have just bought a custom rod just for this summers fishing season.  The guy did a great job, don’t you think?

Time to start planning my summer

Well before you know it, summer will be here and if you haven’t planned your summer by now, like me, then you better get on the ball.  There are some really great deals out there these days if you just take a little time to check the Internet.  I guess people still aren’t traveling like the usually do since the prices for places like Disney World and even cruises seem to keep going lower and lower.  That doesn’t mean it all won’t change when vacation time hits.  That’s why I’m surfing the net to find the perfect summer vacation.  I love Colorado so I think I’ll check into something out there where I can go hiking and just be one with nature.
