Is it me? Or is the world having a lot more earthquakes this past year or two? Maybe we’ve always had them and the news channels just didn’t think they were newsworthy. Or maybe we had them and communications in those far away countries inhibited getting the word out to the U. S. I hope we are not having more earthquakes, just hearing about more of them instead.

Hurt Locker Wins Best Movie

The Academy Awards show ran too long for me to be able to watch them last night. But this morning I heard on the news that the “Hurt Locker” won both the best movie and the best director. I think they won a few more awards, too. This is really cool – a movie that shows the closest thing to real war without being a documentary. Very cool.

A few weeks ago – maybe it was a little longer, like a couple months ago – I’m not sure how long ago. It seems like a few weeks ago. I heard that Toyota was recalling their floor mats. At the time, I was thinking, why would they blame anything on a floor at? That makes no sense to me! Turns out that there was something wrong that was much worse than a floor mat – and a lot more expensive to fix. Bad move, Toyota.
It still hurts

I’m sure if you were old enough to remember Sept. 11th when the twin towers fell, then you remember exactly where you were when it came across the news. I will never forget the sick feeling I got in the pit of my stomach and still get to this day when I think about the sight of those two planes crashing into the twin towers.
The horrific loss of life that day not only at the twin towers in New York but also the other two planes that went down, was just too unimaginable in our country. It left all of us feeling frightened and really, terrified was more like it. We all have seen things like that happen in other countries but not here at home.
God Bless the families of those that were lost that day and God Bless America!!!!
