Did you vote?
May 5, 2009 // Posted in community service, government, grown-up stuff, news | No Comments
That’s one of the questions everyone is asking today. Did you vote? I sure hope so. I did that morning before I went to work. I keep hearing a lot of people complaining about this and that to do with the people that were voted in this year and that’s why I ask the if they voted. If they didn’t, then I feel they have no right to complain about a darn thing. They didn’t care enough to vote to try and help make things better then they have no right to complain about the choices others made for them. The only way to change things is to vote and even then, there’s no guarantee. Only hope.
The flowers worked

Well I am pleased to announce that the flowers worked. She was absolutely surprised to get flowers at work and made sure to show every other woman she works with the flowers and let them know that I was a jerk and she was right. That’s not exactly what I was hoping for. I was hoping she would admit she was a bit of a jerk too but the only thing that matters is the flowers worked.
So guys, I have learned that just about anything can be fixed with flowers. Well as long as it wasn’t something like you hurt your lady physically and then in my opinion, the only thing that will make that right is for you to spend a few nights in jail and for her to dump you but that’s my opinion.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Well it’s 2009 and it will probably be April before I quit writing 2008 on everything. Do you do that too? I hate it when I do that. I even put 2009 on something in December. I guess I was in a major hurry to get rid of 2008 or something. It’s not like it has been a great year or anything. In fact, it was kind of awful in a lot of ways.
So many people lost their jobs in our area and I can’t begin to guess how many people lost their houses. At least three or four people come into my store every day looking for a job. I wish I could help them but they won’t allow but so many people working here. It breaks my heart when a young woman comes in with a kid asking for an application. I have to give her one even though we’re not hiring. I tell them upfront that we aren’t hiring but they will still fill out the application in hopes that a job might open up.
My hopes for the New Year are that our new President is able to jump start the economy for us. I know he can’t do it alone but hopefully someone he has chosen in his cabinet will come up with something that everyone on Capital Hill can agree on and get something started.
